This was initially my musical interpretation of a similarly named poem by Nissim Ezekiel, composed as a school project. It was also the first piece I composed as a piano/flute duet. At school I couldn’t find any adept pianist or flautist to accompany me, so in the end I had to record the piano part and then play flute to it. After playing it several times, however, I realized it had much more to it, and so the real “After the Rain” was born.
